What I love about this hotel is, it is just accross the airport. We got a little problem with our flight and we were looking for a hotel to spend a day or two. Good thing that we got a room right away in Brittania. I was not expecting that much because we just want a place to stay but the room was clean and the bed was really comfortable that we slept like a baby. The bathroom was clean also which is very important for us. The style of the hotel is maybe a little outdated but it was a good value for money and the comfort and location was superb. The check-in was very quick and the staff was all smiles and was quick to accommodate us on the first day. Will definitely come back to Brittania for a staycation. Thank you.

The night porters on shift were friendly and chatty and had a laugh with us when we returned from the event. Answered questions in regards to breakfast. My friend who stayed with me had allergies so they had a look for milk for her too. Rooms are surprisingly quiet, I thought there might be noise with the location but was spot on. Decent size rooms Pleasantly surprised to have an extra bed in the room as we had to book a double room last minute, which meant I could sleep separately. Arrived early and the room was ready which helped us loads with rushing for an event, we travelled 200 miles so had to leave early incase of traffic

This hotel was ideal for flight stopovers…it is 5 min walk max, just across the car park from the airport doors…it was clean, friendly, very reasonably priced…and the bar food served till 10pm was grand, we had scampi and chips and salad and it was very nice. There was a restaurant but we only went in the bar…seating in the bar was comfy and atmosphere relaxed. Absolutely recommend for flight in and out of Newcastle, or indeed a visit to the city as you are straight onto the metro into the city centre (about 20 mins or so journey) …

The flexibility of the hotel in rearranging my booking due to the flooding in Auckland. Booking.com started to help then said I would have to pay, the hotel were kind to me and moved the booking due to the airport closure and cancelled flights. Hotel was just what I needed. Thankyou to Natalie for rearranging the booking and Leanne for the early check-in allowing me to crash after flying for 24hrs. I will definitely use this hotel again.

When you book a Britannia, you know exactly what you are getting, and this was one of the better ones. I use them a lot at airports, and this one is directly next to the airport, so very handy. No shuttle bus or taxi needed! There were roadworks on our journey to the hotel, so we arrived late, but the staff were able to knock up a very acceptable gammon, e, and chips!
